Brilliant Bagan!

10th-14th December 2018

The 10th is Leaving day today we are teleporting to Bagan from Ngapali, I,m joking we took two 9 hour buses, 1 Mini coach and 1 Mini van, the first bus was SO BUMPY..!! There were no seat belts, arm rests or handles. We saw Elephants on the side of the road and my Dad said they were being used for Logging we were the only people on the bus who were surprised to see them and then we shouted ELEPHANTS the bus driver turned and looked and smiled at us he probably laughed his head off when we couldn’t see him.

The second mini van was very nice I slept most of the way/ all of the way. When we got on the second bus at mid night there was no room in the minivan, so one man had to sit on the roof, it must have been freezing up there…!

We start our journey in Bagan in our tiny rubbish room in a hotel called the large golden pot. We looked on TripAdvisor and found a great cafe called Dates & bakery. I had the breakfast 1 (ham, eggs, toast and juice) Around the corner of the Cafe was a E Bike rental shop and we rented 2 bikes for 5000kt £2.50 per bike. We went back to the hotel to put our shoes on and then we took of for the temples and apparently it’s going to be like Angkor wat in Cambodia, Saim Reap, this is going to take 21/2 days. We get the bikes for 12 hours a day. So we set of for our adventure on the Sandy roads of Bagan. Some of the paths are really hard to ride the bikes on as they are really sandy, the temples are amazing and there are so many.

Ananda temple
Ding Dong dad in his LONGGEY
I LOVE E BIKES

Some of the temples are massive like one called Ananda but most of them are very small most of the temples are built from bricks, the best fun was driving around the sandy paths searching for temples. There are over 2200 temples in Bagan

After a tiring day we head to a restaurant called La Pizza, I had a Margarita. We took the E Bikes back and got the slowest Tuk Tuk back to the hotel.

Good morning Bagan, the place of temples

Today the family of three rented E Bikes again as you might have guessed I really like driving around on the E Bikes looking at the temples, before we left we tried on some Longeys in a shop.

We set of at 9.30am the temples are wonderful, one of the temples was bushed of, ( with real bushes) LOL

Mummy bought me a Burmese Folk tales book, about 2 hours later of driving around we bumped into the same lady who sold mummy the book and she said she would take us to a small temple which we can climb, so we followed her for about 10 minutes. To go inside the temple we had to take our shoes and start climbing bare foot we climbed the first part from stairs in the middle of the temple and from there we had to climb up from the outside, it was really high and mummy was nervous, about 1/2 hour later we heard some shouting and when we went back down we saw that this Canadian man had fallen of the temple that we had climbed, Dad thought he had broken his Hip and leg he was in a lot of pain. Dad waited in the road for the Ambulance I hope he was ok

7 hours later we have dinner at a training restaurant called Sanon for disadvantaged youth. The food is amazing, I had Penne pasta with Pesto, Mum had lentil curry.

When we went to bed we watched Only fools and Horses.

Another day at the office………

I mean another day of temples and e-bikes!

Today we wake up early 5am to see the sunrise. We counted 12 Hot air balloons in the sky it was a great sun rise.

We had to leave at 7am to go to our Cooking lesson. We meet a lady called May and a French couple who were doing the same class. We met May at the Market, we have a look around, it was so funny looking at he market with fish heads getting chopped of, and we saw the woman cut the fishes head of and inside the head was a smaller fish and chicken legs Gone Dun Dun Durrr

May gave mummy 1000kt (50p) and she told us that we had to buy 5 vegetables, so I made a video about buying things (Veg) We got Snotcumber( from BFG) Gord, Tamarind leaf, Gord root, lemon leaf and Hibiscus leaf and flowers

When we got to May’s kitchen we chopped and mixed veg & meat together. The food is cooked on clay stoves like a big plant pot

The Pork and Chicken was lovely. At the end we went to the pier to have a drink. We went back to Samon for dinner, I didn’t feel very very well afterwards and went straight to bed

Samosa for breakfast then READY STEDY COOK!!!
Grinding the pain

Me my Dad and May

Lazy last Day

Just chilling today while Dad played golf, me and mummy stayed in bed till 12pm so we had pizza and went to the Amazing Bagan Resort and we chilled by the pool until it rained. We went back in the hotel until Daddy had finished
